Bio

Hello and welcome to the Online Portfolio of David Lanigan, a Digital Media Developer / Designer / IT Trainer and Technician from Ballylinan, Co. Laois. With almost 15 years’ experience in the industry and an avid believer of lifelong learning, I continue to learn and up-skill with new technologies and practices, through video learning, reading books, attending seminars and attending adult and further education programs.

I’ve been involved in freelance design since 2002 where I initially provided services in Graphic Design, Digital, Large Format, Textile and Substrate Printing, Marketing, Photo Restoration. IT Services until 2005 where I established a company called Neon Print and Design where I expanded the range of services on offer to include Signage and Decals, Digital and Traditional Marketing, Digital Imaging and Photography, Website Design and Development, Computer and Electronic Repairs, Customer Support and Training, Project and Business Finance and Account Management, Teamwork and subcontracting to name a few.

In 2006, while running the business, I returned to third level education to pursue my Degree in Multimedia Programming with Design at Limerick Institute of Technology where I graduated in 2010 with first-class honours and I was also awarded the Best Final Project award.

In 2010, I decided to close the business and return to freelance work and refocus on providing only a set of core services which included Repairing of Computers and Electronics, Digital Media Design / Development, Digital Marketing and Social Media, Graphic Design, Web Design and Development, Digital Printing, Signage, IT Training and Support.

In 2012, I had an opportunity to join a local training provider on a contract basis where I became a trainer, teaching adult learners Basic Computers, I.T. Maintenance, Office Skills, ECDL, ECDL Advanced, Desktop Publishing and Web Authoring, for over three years. During this period; in 2013, I returned to education to up-skill at IT Carlow, where I studied for a Higher Diploma in Digital Media Design, which was delivered over three evenings.

In September 2015, I took a break from freelance work due to an ongoing health condition and returned to education at Dublin Institute of Technology to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in Web and Mobile Applications where I graduated with a Distinction in May 2016. Having the opportunity to upgrade to a Master’s Degree, I undertook the masters project for a further six months and in February 2017, I graduated with a first-class honors Masters in Creative Digital Media with a specialisation in Web and Mobile Applications.

When I’m not busy working, I enjoy playing golf, walking, swimming, quad biking, computer games, traveling, photography, growing vegetables, and learning new skills online through video learning and reading.

In 2017, I’m plan on re-establishing my business, specialising in web and design solutions, and seek new contract, part time or full time opportunities in Leinster. Oris watches represent excellent Swiss manufacture and classic styling at prices that most can afford. I'm a fan of rolex replica sale and I like its current collection of Big Crown Pointer rolex replica sale although there are one or two things about the collection I have mild criticisms of. The pointer date was first used in replica watches uk in 1938 and though one or two other manufacturers employ a pointer date in some of their rolex replica sale, the pointer date is almost a trademark of Oris. The use of this feature in their Big Crown collection is a beautiful amalgamation of pointer date and crown. All the Big Crown rolex replica come with an automatic movement with a rolex replica back and see-through mineral glass - personally, I like a being able to see the inner workings of the watches movement.
